Abstract
This study aimed to integrate the effectiveness of self-compassion promotion programs from an comprehensive and objective viewpoint by conducting meta-analysis. The analysis targets of the study were a total of 46 published study, including master¡¯s and doctorate dissertations and academic theses conducted in Korea from 2011 to 2021.
As a result of the analysis, first, it was analyzed that the overall effect size of the self-compassion program was 0.897, which has a large effect size. Among the six sub-factors of self-compassion, self-kind(0.874) > mindfulness(0.745) > universal humanity(0.717) showed a large effect size. While self-criticism(-0.220) appeared as a small effect size, and isolation and excessive synchronization did not show a significant effect size, indicating that the effect size of the program that strengthens the positive factor is greater than weakening the negative sub-factor of self-compassion. Second, among the characteristics of the self-compassion critical program, the target of the program showed a large effect size in children. in addition, it was analyzed that the mixed group, including both men and women, showed a large effect size, and the number of people was 11-15, with a total of 6 session showing a large effect on self-compassion promotion. Theoretical practical and policy implications according to the results of this study based on evidence-based practice were presented.
